Circuit City to begin liquidation of stores

READ MORE:

Bad news for employees of Wilmington's Circuit City; the company is shutting down the remainder of it's US stores. The liquidation of the 567 stores means 30,000 employees will lose their jobs. The company closed 155 stores at the end of last year. The electronics retailer filed for Chapter 11 in November, and was looking for a buyer or a debt refinancing deal, but neither materialized. Sales will start as early as tomorrow at some stores. They will close when liquidation sales are complete, likely at the end of March.

High Prices & Bad Service

High Prices and Bad Service brought them down. This is just the first of the downfall of these shody corporations. Looks like the Mom & Pop stores might be turning around.

I

have actually started making it a POINT to go to Mom and Pop stores...at least they ACT LIKE THEY GIVE A DARN when you go in there...

dueces CCS!

We all saw it coming. The old school crew told you DIVX was a bad idea, but you didn't listen. Get rid of major appliances, oh yeah that was brillint, no one to manage your customer service? Fabulous idea! Oh this is my favorite: get rid of skilled, knowledgable commisioned sales people and hire $8/hr clerks! That will definitely turn the business around for you. I think we have now proven that the Plan-O-Gram monkey could have done a better job running the company. Thnks for the memories!

Well

a bunch of ATTITUDE is part of the reason...plus employees who don't know SQUAT about what they are doing....same can be said about Best Buy as well.
