READ MORE:

RALEIGH, N.C. -- A man who shared the Nobel Prize with former Vice President Al Gore and others for work on climate change is among the people speaking at a two-day conference on climate change in North Carolina.

Tom Karl is among those scheduled to speak on Tuesday at a climate change workshop in Raleigh. Karl was a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that won a Nobel Prize.

He will make projections about the affects of climate change on the state.

The workshop's host is the N.C. Interagency Leadership team, which is comprised of federal and state agencies that are planning North Carolina's transportation system.

The workshop will focus on how the state can address the impacts of climate change.
