CO forecaster discusses future of money in NC talk

READ MORE:
RALEIGH, N.C. -- The head of a Colorado think tank is in North Carolina to talk about what he sees is the future of money. Futurist Thomas Frey of The DaVinci Institute is the inaugural speaker Wednesday for a new program in Raleigh sponsored by SunTrust Bank. The SunTrust Center for Strategic Futures plans to offer a series of events focusing on future economic trends. Frey tells The News & Observer of Raleigh that the credit crunch is blocking the route to entrepreneurship some people choose after being laid off from their jobs. Under these circumstances, Frey says its natural for people to try Internet-based businesses with low starting costs. Frey also sees cash staying around in the digital future because people will demand anonymous money. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)

Anonymous money

Oh, you can take that to the bank! (Actually, you'd be better off NOT taking it to the bank.) As the Socialists raise taxes and pass laws that probe further and further into your personal finances, the underground economy is going to explode! Every one of us knows someone who is working under the table or bartering for goods and services. I recall a figure from New York State that I picked up in an Economics class many years ago. Every time they increased income taxes, it was estimated that another $200 - 300 million went into the underground economy annually....and that's in just ONE state!
