WILMINGTON, NC (TRIANGLE BUSINESS JOURNAL) - Wilmington area home sales – those in New Hanover, Pender and northern Brunswick counties, totaled 4,540 in 2010 compared to 4,361 in 2009 - reports the Triangle Business Journal.
That's a modest but notable increase and good news for home owners and investors in coastal properties.

Check the numbers
statewide, 30% of home sales in 2010 were of distressed properties, foreclosures and pre-foreclosures. That % is probably higher at the resort communities.
2011 may actually see an increase in the number of foreclosures along the beach.
So great news for investors; great news for those who want a place at the beach; not so good news for those who bought beach properties at the peak and would like to sell.
