Codington celebrates Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week

The lobby of Codington Elementary was transformed into a “secret garden” Thursday morning. The Codington PTA is celebrating Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week with, Special Days with Movie themes. Today was The Secret Garden. Students could also buy carnations for their favorite teachers for a dollar. Previous themes included Breakfast at Tiffany's, where the kindergarten provided breakfast and Willy Wonka where 1st and 2nd graders gave out chocolate. The students said there are lots of things they like about their teachers. “They're so special to me. They play games,” said kindergartner Jaden Esquiel. Appreciation Week ends Friday with, That's a Wrap, where the teachers and staff will receive Chick-Fil-A wraps for lunch.
