Cole Bros. Circus in town

READ MORE: Cole Bros. Circus in town
WILMINGTON -- The circus is here. The Cole Brothers Circus has been coming to Wilmington during the Azalea Festival for more than 20 years. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the circus is back in town. Ringmaster Chris Conners said, "It's a great show and we have fun that's all that matters." Complete with daring stunts, acrobatics and of course the clowns -- it takes more than 100 people behind the scenes of the Cole Brothers Circus to bring this dazzling spectacle to life. Even if you've seen the circus before Cole Brothers always finds a way to top the year before. A new addition is crazy Callam and the Wheel of Destiny. For a traveling circus, you've got to learn to juggle a lot of activities. On any given night the big top can house 2,000 spectators, elephants and camels. "If you've never been to a big top circus, this is the perfect opportunity of a life time the oldest traveling tent circus in America is here," Conners said. "The Cole Brothers circus one of the biggest names in show business, am I right?" And the circus aims to please. Circus attendee Michelle Clayton said, "He's very excited about all the animals and he just can't wait and I have fun too." Circus lover Jackson Boyles said, "I like a lot of the animals that they have." Wilmington resident Etha Pate said, "We just brought the kids out. Ever since my daughter was a little girl we've been doing it." You can still catch the next show at 7:30 Thursday night at the Wilmington International Airport. The circus will be here all weekend long. For more show times click here.

The residents in Wilmington

The residents in Wilmington and the surronding counties should boycott the circus this year to teach the Azalea Fest planners that we will not support cruelty to animals! Please do not bring them here next year!

Please, please...boycott any

Please, please...boycott any circus that utilizes animals for entertainment. It's not humane. It's not right. Do your part to end this madness and not only not go, but encourage your friends and family to do the same. Unfortunately, this includes Cole Bros. here in Wilmington.

Cole Brothers Circus

As a senior adult who loves animals dearly, I always loved the circus. Yet, the animals always seemed so sad to me. this year I read a book, "Water for the Elephants". this book touched me dearly, but closer to home, my sister-in-law told me when her father was 16 he ran away to the circus, to the circus in this book. I see your TV ads for this circus, and I wonder, have you checked to see how they treat their animals. Elephants are probably the most abused. I got a pretty good story from my sister-in-law by her father who became a very impressive artist. My only wish is that, if you push the excitement and drama of this circus, please make sure they treat their animals well. Some how I don't think you much care, it is all $$$$ and cents. Right.
