Columbus County accident takes the life of another teenager

Another car accident in Columbus County has taken the life of a teen. It happened Wednesday afternoon on Prison Camp Road just south of Whiteville. Eighteen-year old Joey Soles of Tabor City was ejected from his SUV while trying to elude arrest for not having a driver's license. Soles was not wearing his seat belt. His death is the 14th on Columbus County roads in the past 39 days.

Columbus Deaths

It is truly sad that a teenager had to die from his wrong actions. How long before they will learn to act like adults. Maybe the State needs to up the graduated license plan to 18 or 19 in order to slow these tragedies down. They will never go away and until parents or guardians take a firm hand and some tough love with the teenagers, we will still see this. Sometime somewhere something drastic has to happen to make these kids stop driving badly
