These people are not reporting the news and weather, they are making DRAMA. I think your LOCAL news coverage at WWAY is excellent, and your on-line local coverage is available 24/7, and as a news archive for the area, which I use and enjoy. But NATIONAL weather coverage, and certainly the WEATHER Channel, is more hype, when it comes to storms, than anything else. I think local authorities were, what you could call, forced to over-react to Hanna, which was just a tropical storm. I know we don't want to be under prepared, but come on. And remember, if you call "wolf" too many times, you may under-react to the real one!
