You can still use rabbit ears and outside antennas with digital TV... the problem with non-digital TVs is the TUNER, not the ANTENNA!. To improve your reception, you can still use those antennas with the converter box (which is a digital TUNER that converts the digital signal to something older analog TVs can understand) or with the newer digital TVs that have an digital (ATSC) tuner.
