I use River Road a lot going to Carolina Beach and there are always bikes. Some are in the bike lane, single file. At other times, they are decked out in their spandex three and four wide in the road like it's the Tour de France. The only difference is they close the roads to vehicular traffic and these wannabes compete with cars with an "I own the road" attitude. I have been behind some for miles doing 35 because I cannot pass and they are in the roadway. Doesn’t some of the tax on the gas I put in my car, and my registration fee go towards roads and highways? Didn’t I read about all the tax dollars the city spent on a bike path?
