Flooding from Tropical Storm Hanna has jammed piles of debris under some bridges on the Cape Fear River in Fayetteville. Whole trees, mats of grass, trash and even a small boat are in the piles. A state bridge maintenance engineer says it will be weeks before contractors can clean up the mess. Engineers say the piles don't appear to pose a threat to the bridge structures, but they will know for certain after the water level drops.
