JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Two volunteer firefighters in Onslow County were killed when their pumper truck overturned as they were en route to a fire.
Authorities say Billy Harold Williams and Brandon Michael Whimple, both of Jacksonville, died Saturday afternoon as they drove to a fire at an uninhabited mobile home.
Highway Patrol Trooper J-J January says Williams lost control of the truck, which skidded sideways and overturned.
