I'm a liberal, with one exception. No parents or siblings should ever be put through the horror that the Carsons have been. As a society, it is our obligation to protect families in our communities.
As a result, if a reasonable jury finds reasonable cause to convict these guys and sentence them to the max, I say we supportr that jury. These guys had all the advantages that society offers. Granted their parents were unsuccessful, and they were born into a bad neighborhood.
However, so was Deval Patrick, now the Gov. of MA, and so was Barack O'Bama, now a senator running for president of the U.S. It's all about choices. If these two couldn't choose better, then they need to be locked up.
If the only way to ensure that they cannot escape is death penalty, then that's appropriate. Here's why:
Ted Bundy was locked up and then escaped. Tragically, he went on to savagely kill more girls in FL. It is our duty to make sure that killers are not able to escape and if that means we have to put them down, then, deep breath, let's do it.
