ONSLOW COUNTY -- Hundreds of family, friends and coworkers gathered to honor firefighter Billy Williams, a man dear to the fire department and the community. Williams served as a volunteer for Rhodestown Fire Department for several years. Over 30 departments from Olsow County and the surrounding area took part in a procession in Billy's honor. Trucks from Rhodestown Fire Department draped their trucks in black. Billy Harold Williams was 45 years old. Nineteen-year-old Brandon Whimple was the other firefighter killed in that crash. He will be remembered tomorrow. Funeral services will take place at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Jacksonville, beginning at two p.m.
