GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) _ The son of North Carolina State basketball coach Sidney Lowe was charged today with 22 counts in connection with two armed robberies.
Sidney R. Lowe Jr. of Greensboro turned himself in Thursday to authorities. He was released on a $450,000 secured bond.
The Greensboro Police Department charged Lowe with six counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and six counts of second degree kidnapping in connection with a March 16 robbery. He was also charged with striking one man on the head with a bottle.
That's according to Lowe's attorney, Locke Clifford of Greensboro.
Police at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro also charged Lowe in connection with a March 24 attempted armed robbery that ended with the shooting of a man in a campus dorm. He is charged with a felony of aiding and abetting attempted armed robbery.
Other charges include: two counts of possession of a weapon on educational property; possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for the keeping and selling of a controlled substance; possession of between a half an ounce and 1.5 ounces of marijuana; and three counts of stolen goods or property.
