Deputy Justin Stadler responded to a break-in call on Dogwood Road in Winnabow around three o’clock Monday afternoon, to find a man standing in the road holding an axe. That man was 33-year-old Anthony Hall. Hall dropped the axe when ordered to do so, but came for Deputy Stadler, who then attempted to use his taser gun. Hall knocked the taser from Stadler's hands and attacked him. Among Hall's charges are assault on a government official inflicting serious injury and two counts of felony breaking and entering. Charles Miller of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, said, "We were fortunate that the deputy only received minor injuries.
