It amuses me that people are attacking Gore for doing his job. The job of the DA's office is to prosecute. Do you see members of the DA's office stopping speeders issuing them tickets? No! When Gore was presented with the evidence by the Deputies of Brunswick Co. he immediately had Hewett removed from office, prosecuted Hewett, and Hewett pled guitly. Federal charges usually take priority over State charges and this is the case here. As for Hewett's sentence, I'm sure the sentence was within the Fair Sentencing guidelines of the state of North Carolina. As for Jon David, do you really think he's concerned about the interests of the people in Bladen, Brunswick, or Columbus, or just interested in his own.
