The condition of a Wilmington police officer involved in a weekend car accident has been upgraded. Officer C.A. Greer is in good condition Monday after spending much of the weekend in stable condition. Greer hydroplaned early Saturday morning near the intersection of Oleander Drive and Independence Boulevard. Officer Greer was driving east on Oleander responding to a breaking and entering call. His car swerved and hit a utility pole and a tree. Chief Ralph Evangelous says it is an unfortunate situation. “He is hurt quite badly. We're still waiting to hear on some of the prognosis of some of the issues involved. He's going to recover obviously but he is hurt pretty bad.” Officer Greer worked for WPD for less than a year.
