We begin with Leon's Odgen Restaurant at 7324 Market Street. A New Hanover County health inspector reports nine violations. Many food temperature problems; whole eggs too warm and cheese left on the counter at seventy degrees, a five point offense. Another violation; raw meats stored next to potatoes and on top of cooked chili. The inspector also reports workers needed to wash their hands better when changing job tasks. And the inspector found no sanitizer in the kitchen. 81.5 for Leon's.
Next; Asian Buffet at 2541 Carolina Beach Road. Eight violations reported. Food temperature probelms here, too. The inspector also took off points for chicken and other meats stored uncovered in coolers and freezers, and reports the dishwasher did not sanitize properly. 88 for Asian Buffet.
Now two reinspections. Valino's on Carolina Beach Road rises seven points to 93.5, and Szechuan Buffet in the 6900 block of Market Street shoots up from 76 to 93.5.
One high performer tonight. Tuscan Grill at 720 North Lake Park Boulevard in Carolina Beach.
