Healthier Easter Eating Options

READ MORE:
Easter is here. That means a big ham or turkey dinner and loads of chocolate and candy, but is there a healthier way to celebrate? One local store thinks so. Lovey’s Natural Foods and Cafe offer organic chocolate bunnies, eggs and candy. The store claims that it’s organic chocolate contains nothing processed, no corn syrups or added sugar. Those who study organic foods say when a food is not all natural; toxins are stored in the fat. For the big Easter dinner, all natural chicken, turkey and ham are an option. Owner of Lovey’s, Marie Montemurro says "the hams are organic, you don't want anything cured or any nitrates because that's a chemical and when you're eating that chemical some of it actually gets stored in your body and it becomes toxic and it's unhealthy. You are what you eat." Of course, if you want to watch your weight it doesn’t matter if the food is organic. Weight loss comes down to portion size and eating in moderation.
