Local charities benefit from local craft fair

Finding ways to stay dry was a benefit for business at a Wilmington craft fair Saturday. The 9th Annual Saint Mark's Craft Fair had more than 30 craft vendors with unique products and gifts. It was the spot for some peaceful shopping the day after Black Friday. The event sponsors the charities Step up for Soldiers, Wounded Warriors, and Communities in Schools of New Hanover County. Coordinator Maureen Quinn said, "Last year we gave to Guardian ad Litem and the Children Carousel, each year we pick two or three charities. We try to get something local if we can, and that way we feel like we are giving back to the community too." All proceeds from the event will be divided among the three charities.
