If your kids will be going to one of these new schools in Castle Hayne, you may be surprised know that our county commissioners thought it would be a good idea to allow one of the largest cement plants in the country to be built virtually across the street from the schools. people in the impact zone (miles around the Holly Shelter Road location) will be breathing the particulate matter, absorbing the Mercury and drinking the polluted water. Cement is one of the nastiest industries around, and to date it has been virtually unregulated. EPA is coming out with new regulations in the near future, but our local and state officials seem to be trying to rush through permits for Titan so they wont have to comply with the new regulations. It's a real disaster. See www.stoptitan.org for more background and to find out how you can help prevent the plant from being built.
