18th century style holiday at the Burgwin-Wright House

Wilmington residents went back in time for a taste of Christmas. The Burgwin-Wright House opened its doors Sunday to the public for an 18th century style holiday. Dancers dressed in authentic colonial gowns and entertained visitors. Food and medical tools used in the 1700's were put on display. Burgwin-Wright House manager, Jackie Margoles, said, "The 21st century has lost sight of what really happened during the Revolutionary War period and how difficult it was to establish a brand new country. And this house is just one of the few examples that have been left standing that really participated during that time and it's important to know where we've been to know where we're going." The Burgwin-Wright House is open for tours Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are ten dollars per person.
