iTunes coming up with new purchasing options

Sales of music were down in 2008, so iTunes online music store is coming up with ways to help sales. Songs will soon come in three pricing tiers; $.69, $.99, and $1.29. Song price will depend on the recording company. Every song used to cost $.99. Apple is also working with all the major record labels to free songs of DRM, digital rights management, technology that limits the ability to copy songs or move them to different devices. While iTunes is the most popular digital music store, others have been faster to offer songs without copy protection. Amazon.com started selling DRM free music in 2007.
