Whether shopping for music or parts for your car, one benefit of the internet is the ability to comparison shop without leaving your chair. Knowing some price-shopping tricks can help you get the best deals. Getting new tires is a chore most people dread. To help ease the pain, try MyTireMonkey.com. It is a website that does most of the work for you. “It walks you right through it, step-by-step. All you have to do is put in your zip code and your vehicle and it gives you every option of every tire that they have and you pick it," said Tyler Poole, who was shopping online for tires. The process is simple. Enter your zip code and choose a way to search, either by the size of your tires or by vehicle type, to make sure you get the perfect fit. Scroll through your options and pick your tires. Click "add to cart". Compare price and location to find the dealer you want to use. Click "deliver them here" to get your total price. You pay for the tires online using Paypal. The installation fee is paid at the service center. Enter your contact and billing information, and hit "complete purchase". That's it. Your tires are delivered to a service center, and you never have to lay a finger on a tire. "It saves time because we don't have to shop for tires and it's easy, we can go online, order them, they're done, delivered, just have the guy take his truck up there, next day, put them on. And the tires come local. They're not shipped from a warehouse across the country. They come from local suppliers, you get them the next day," said Poole. The installer will contact you to set up an appointment, and your tires are usually mounted within twenty-four hours. MyTireMonkey branched out to Eastern Carolina just weeks ago, and they're already seeing results. Ryan Benton, owner of Black’s Tire said, "It attracts a different clientele that we may not normally see, because there are a large majority of shoppers who do their own research online." TireRack.com is another option for purchasing tires online. There, you can shop for tires and installers, read reviews, and find pricing information. If you decide to buy, you can have the tires shipped to you or directly to your installer. All you'll need to do then is set up an appointment, and drive in for installation.
