Trunk and trade helps families during tough times

On Saturday, the Coastal Carolina Moms and the Wilmington School of Ballet put a new spin on the old concept of yard sales, as they hosted a trunk and trade. Folks set up shop to promote their business and sell or trade goods right out of their trunk. Event organizers say it's a way for families to help families during tough times. Elizabeth Hester, the event coordinator, explained, "The idea is to help families combat this economy. Bring your clothes, your shoes, kids bikes anything children you can sell or trade." For interested vendors, the event takes place near Sun Trust Bank on Oleander Drive in Wilmington, every second and fourth Saturday of every month.
