WILMINGTON -- Hundreds of people gathered at Hugh McRae Park to learn more about how to protect the environment. One of the main issues discussed was global warming. Vice President of Cape Fear Biofuels, Brent Manning is promoting Bio-diesel fuel produced from animal and vegetable oils. "Right now we want to reach out to the community and tell people what Biofuels are, tell them what the benefits are and also how the consumer can be apart of a new renewable energy for the future." The new fuel provides a cleaner alternative for diesel-dependent cars and trucks. "Basically, Bio-diesel is a really easy way to take the first step towards improving your carbon footprint on this planet." Cary Ralston visited Manning’s booth and is considering buying a car that can use Biodiesel. "I'm very interested in it actually and especially after talking to a couple of people here today." Manning believes Biodiesel is the bridge to our future. Right now Wilmington only has one Biodiesel pump station located on 110 S. 17th St. The fuel is only available to Cape Fear Biofuel members.
