Another county from our area is joining in the fight against a huge hike in homeowners’ insurance rates. Pender County commissioners voted unanimously yesterday to join the lawsuit. New Hanover, Brunswick, Onslow and Carteret counties would also be affected by the hike; New Hanover county has already joined the lawsuit. The lawsuit is opposing a 30 percent homeowners insurance increase for coastal homeowners, which was recently approved by the North Carolina insurance commission.
