Officials say a woman whose husband beat her with a hammer, then staged a robbery in their home, is now conscious and talking to investigators. Onslow County sheriff's officials said 26-year-old Erin Gould spoke about the December attack for the first time Tuesday. Detectives say her husband, 24-year-old corporal Jonathan Gould, stabbed himself multiple times after the attack on his wife and then fabricated a robbery story. Jonathan Gould later confessed to attacking his wife. Erin Gould is in stable condition and remains hospitalized at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
