Flu takes the life of one child in North Carolina

A six-year-old child died Monday from the flu. It is the first reported child death in North Carolina this flu season. The child had not received a flu vaccine. Experts say so far, it appears this will be an average flu season for the state. But every year, at least one or two children die from flu in North Carolina. The CDC now recommends the flu vaccine for all children from six months to 18 years old. The name and hometown of the child who died are not being released to protect the family's privacy.
