An eleven-year-old boy is in critical condition after a car hit him in the Kings Grant neighborhood of New Hanover County Wednesday night. The driver is a 24-year-old man who lives nearby. Troopers said he was driving the speed limit in the neighborhood and is not facing charges. They also said the boy was walking in the middle of the dark street in dark clothing. The boy is being transferred to a hospital in Charlotte for further treatment. The names of the driver and the boy who was hit have not been released.
