Crews reached a benchmark Tuesday in the construction of the multi-million-dollar NASCAR Hall of Fame being built in downtown Charlotte. The final steel beam was raised into place Tuesday morning marking the traditional "topping out" ceremony for the project. The beam was hoisted into place sporting a tree and an American flag to commemorate the occasion. The tourist attraction is scheduled to open some time next year.
