I am so sorry for the loss of Officer Matthews. It's a shame that the media in this area have a lack of respect for what his family, friends and co-workers are going through right now. There are a lot of us in the community that are truly disgusted as well. The fact is, the Star News and the other media outlets really don't care about the community; they care about sensationalism. It's been that way for a long time now. I was less suprised by the Star News. I wish that WWAY had been the one station to make a stand to say "we are going to be sensitive to the family and friends of Officer Matthews at this time". I appreciate their editing, but they still could have refused to air it. It would have been the right thing to do. I don't think there is anything the family can sue for. Wish there were.
