Remember those 90,000 sex offenders MySpace recently identified and removed from it's social networking site? More than 2,000 of them were registered in North Carolina.
In response to a subpoena from Attorney General Roy Cooper, MySpace has turned over the names, e-mail and IP addresses of convicted sex offenders with profiles on the site.
Competing social networking site Facebook has also found and removed more than 5,000 convicted sex offenders.
A North Carolina law in effect since December prohibits convicted sex offenders from being members of these sites because children are also members.
