The Kitchen Cops have only found a few low performers recently. But this week, one of those low performers is back for a second chance, and two restaurants earn high performer status.
The Juggling Gypsy on Castle Street in Wilmington lost three points this time around because an ice scoop, dishes, utensils and a large pot are dirty and clean hookahs are contaminated when stored on the mop sink. Another point off to take care of some rusting shelves and the handle on the reach-in beer cooler. Six violations in all the second time around, but an improvement from 85 to 94 for Juggling Gypsy.
This week's highest score belongs to Sandwich Pail Gourmet in the Landfall Center at Military Cutoff and Eastwood Eoads. No violations, and a perfect one-hundred for Sandwich Pail Gourmet.
And across the river and down the road to Ocean Isle, where Leopard Chase Grill lost half a point because floors beneath all equipment need cleaning and it needs to caulk behind baseboards in bathrooms where old caulking is cracking. 99.5 for Leopard Chase Grill.
