Story body

FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) -- Former UNC-Wilmington player Victor Ebong has been hired as an assistant coach at Wright State.

Ebong is an Omaha, Nebraska, native who played forward for the Seahawks when Wright State coach Brad Brownell was an assistant coach there.

Ebong graduated in 2000 and then played professionally in Sweden. He returned to North Carolina, where he was involved in several coaching jobs that included AAU teams and basketball camps. He also worked as a color commentator for UNC Wilmington games televised by Comcast/Fox Sportsnet.

In Brownell's first season at Wright State, the Raiders finished 23-10 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1993, losing in the first round to Pittsburgh.
