My mother died from oral cancer as a direct result from smoking. My dad died from a heart attack with a cigarette in his hand. My brother died at 45 from a heart attack after 25 years of smoking (he was being considered for a heart transplant). I was told 20 years ago that if I didn't quit, I would get emphazema in 5 years. Hope that answers your question.
