People from all over the country stopped by Wilimington's Azalea Street Fair Sunday. “My kids and grand kids live down here so we flew down here 3,500 miles,” said Azalea visitor Gary Kiesecker. Some shoppers strolled through the streets with a focus on buying a few specific items. Shopper Matthew Zachok said, “Some Irish stuff, maybe some bird houses.” Others took a different approach, like Ken Montville who said, “She just bought 2 dresses just at that last place and a clock at another location. Oh, and some guitar picks that's right.” Some people decided they would stick to a budget, but there was a wide range for what shoppers planned to spend. Regardless of how much money visitors forked over at the Azalea Festival, they said there were a few good deals. “Prices are really competitive, you've go so many of the same items,” described Leslie Chuntz. With so many places to spend your money you might think people would make frequent stops at the ATM, but most people said that was one thing they did not budget for. Organizers have not tallied the total economic impact of this year's festival just yet, but many said clear skies and warm weather are reasons to be optimistic.
