County residents like myself pay for our own trash, water and sewer services. We pay State income and sales taxes which support the roads and schools and County sales and property taxes which support the public schools and parks (including those inside City limits), fire and police (sheriff's dept) services, etc. Please tell me what benefits we receive that we don't pay for? Do we occasionally go into the City in order to work, shop, have a meal, go to the theater or visit the doctor? Yes we do, and we make a vital economic contribution to your City. So do residents of many surrounding counties. Using your logic, the City should annex and tax Pender, Duplin, Onslow, Columbus and Brunswick County residents as well. I don't see that going over very well.
