The taxpayer watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste ranks North Carolina 34th in pork barrel spending. Yesterday the group released its annual Pig Book, which draws attention to government spending.
It ranked Alaska top in the nation with an average of $322.34 of federal spending per capita. By comparison, North Carolina receives $24.72 per person. That's nearly five dollars less than the national average of $29.60.
