Two Camp Lejeune-based Marines killed in Iraq

CAMP LEJEUNE (AP) -- The Department of Defense says two Camp Lejeune-based Marines died in Iraq over the weekend.

Master Sergeant Kenneth N. Mack of Fort Worth, Texas, and Corporal Charles O. Palmer the Second of Manteca, California, were both killed Saturday while conducting combat operations in Anbar province.

Mack was assigned to the Second Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group. Palmer was assigned to the Eighth Communication Battalion, Second Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group.

No other details were immediately available.
