School Resource Officers are an asset to our schools. They not only provide safety to our campuses but they are able to connect with the students and hopefully intervene prior to any major issues like Columbine's. I know there has been some concerns about the amount of time and money spent having officers at school games and events but believe me the time that something happens and there are not enough officers to respond immediately and appropriately everyone will wonder why there were not more there. Isn't our children's safety worth it? Plus having several officers at large events allows them to pay more attention to the crowd and again intervene prior to a problem errupting.
