The Brunswick County man who skipped the country during his trial for statutory rape has been sentenced. Brian Perry and his girlfriend fled to Belize in December. The two were found in early May, and brought back to the US last week. Today, Perry was sentenced to a minimum of 37 years in prison for statutory rape, indecent liberties with a child, and gun charges. His girlfriend, Christina Wooten, is being held on $1.5 million dollars bond as an accessory to the crimes.
