Bev Perdue said all the right things to get in office, and now that she's in she hasn't fulfill any of the promises she made. You would think, coming from a career in education, at least she said, she would understand the shortage of teachers we had to begin with. Now with all of her decisions, we are letting the teachers with the most experience go and keeping the ones with the least experience. And by cutting all of the positions, our classroom sizes are going up 40 percent. The kids who are struggling are going to get the most attention, the kids in the middle will not be able to progress at all, and the kids at the top of the class will get bored. This could even result in dropping out altogether. At the least, they stand to lose the crucial academic skills that they need to excell on the EOG's that the state pushes down the educators throats every year. Please write a letter to congress and express you concern for our children, our teachers and our economy, now! If everyone speaks out, we can turn this around before the school year actually starts.
