You may not have noticed, but there's a new speed limit in effect on one of Wilmington’s main drags. The speed limit on Eastwood Road recently dropped from 55 to 45 miles per hour. The Department of Transportation dropped the speed limit because of all the new street accesses that have been built along Eastwood for the Autumn Hall subdivision. As that mixed use development progresses, you can expect to see a number of new traffic lights along Eastwood Road as well. The city of Wilmington also passed a resolution requesting that the speed limit be lowered because of the increased pedestrian traffic along Eastwood with the new cross city trail.
