Cape Fear Public Utility Authority votes on budget

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority's board is expected to vote on its budget for the next fiscal year Wednesday. The board is considering increasing the threshold on the tiered rate structure it uses, meaning customers would not be charged a higher rate until they use 12,000 gallons. The current system increases rates after 9,000 gallons. The public is invited to attend and comment, but it is not a hearing. The meetings start at 9:00 a.m. at the authority's administrative building at 235 Government Center Drive in Wilmington.
