Bitsy Corbett passes away at 91

The matriarch of a prominent Wilmington family has died. Albert Corbett said his mother, Elizabeth "Bitsy" Corbett lived at Airlie Gardens starting in 1960. The Corbett family bought Airlie Gardens in 1948 and opened the gardens to the public. They sold the land to New Hanover County in 1999. Mrs. Corbett was 91 years old.
