Army Reserve military police leave for Iraq duty

RALEIGH (AP) -- An Army Reserve unit of military police said goodbye to family and friends as they left to prepare for up to a year in Iraq.

The 145 members of the 535th Military Police Battalion was the latest group to deploy from North Carolina. Last week, about 300 Fort Bragg soldiers left for the Middle East.

Families who came to say goodbye said the soldiers needed support.
