Paying off bond debt, improving and repairing facilities, adding instructional staff are all commendable uses of the funds.
Creating a reserve fund is a good idea until one realizes the Governor can raid it at will for whatever he or she deems with no real plan to replace the funds.
The elected folks in Raleigh, the ones who in theory are accountable for the use of the funds, can not state where the funds are used or how. Did you read what the Vice Chairman of the House Finance Committe said? "..Nobody knows where the money is going right now, and I can't find out either..."
That is a pitiful statement for an elected official to make.
Folks, think about whom you vote for in 2010. At least vote for someone who will ask relevant questions and not stop asking those questions until the answers are given. We deserve at least that from our elected officals.
Do you see part of the problem?
