Artwork for October's Riverfest introduced Thursday

The official artwork of this year's Riverfest was introduced to Wilmington Thursday. Members of the Riverfest committee, along with artist Magon Dew, unveiled Dew's winning painting. This year's theme is Changing with the Tides. Dew focused her artwork on downtown Wilmington's architecture. Her colorful painting includes a timeline of architecture from the Bellamy Mansion to the Brooklyn Art District. You may be surprised to hear Dew is new to painting. "I just started, just this year. It's one of those things, I've never taken art classes are anything, so I've always done it on the side, I've always wanted to be an interior designer so I can always be caught doing floor plans and drawing up different house floor plans and stuff, so I've kind of taken that to the next level," said Dew. Dew's artwork will be printed on t-shirts for Riverfest, as well as set up at a booth during the festival, which is October 3rd and 4th.
